Remember when staying home for weeks on end sounded like a dream? Same. What we didn’t realize is just how boring it would be. A great way to shake things up is to listen to a podcast. Fun, informative and always different, podcasts give us a chance to get some fun commentary in our lives and help us feel a little less alone in this isolating time. Here are my Top 5 podcasts to stream during your Quarantine:
1. Keep It (Crooked Media)
Sick of mindlessly scrolling through twitter just to stay up to date with pop culture? Look no further than Keep It. Hosts Ira, Louis and Aida sort through the latest pop-culture of each week, helping you decide what’s worth keeping up with and what could simply, “Keep it”. By the end of each episode, you’ll find yourself informed and tickled by their incredible insight and fun delivery.
2. The Daily (New York Times)
If you are like us, there is only so much news you can take in one day. Enter: The Daily. A perfect podcast to start your morning, host Michael Barbaro leads you through the most important topic of that day. Expertly researched and incredibly listenable, streaming The Daily has become one of my favorite quarantine rituals.
3. Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations (OWN)
What could we all use a little of right now? Oprah. Super Soul Conversations invites you to sit down with our favorite media mogul and a special guest. Each episode is filled with some inspiration and truth bombs that will get you out of a funk and wanting to shout “I love bread!”. Alright, maybe you won’t do that. But seriously. It’s Oprah. Just listen.
4. Still Processing (New York Times)
Another place to get some more pop culture in your day is the New York Times’ fabulous podcast, Still Processing. Wesley Morris and Jenna Wrotham (Two culture writers for the NYT) pick a single topic that is ravaging today’s pop culture, dissect it and ask why we are drawn to it in the first place. If you want to get inside the why of pop-culture, this is your podcast.
5. Why Won’t You Date Me? (HeadGum)
Looking for love? Listen to “Why Won’t You Date Me?” by the hilarious host of Netflix hit “Nailed It”, Nicole Byer. This amazing podcast follows Nicole as she literally asks that question to her friends, other comedians, and even her exes every single week. This podcast will have you laughing out loud and truly wondering why the hell Nicole Byer is single!
