Looking for some tunes to help pass your time in between Zoom calls and binge watching? Look no further! Here is list of albums we’ve been blasting for the past few weeks:
Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa
While many artists opted to understandably push their albums back amid the pandemic, our pop savior Dua Lipa did the opposite and pushed it up a week early, giving fans a rare gift in these crazy times. Far from a sophomore slump, Future Nostalgia is part concept album, part pure-pop masterpiece. Mixing classic disco sounds with futuristic synths, Dua creates a style all her own. Don’t believe me? Try skipping one song. Spoiler alert: you can’t.
CALM by 5SOS
Like Future Nostalgia, 5 Seconds of Summer finds a way to use older sounds and blast off into today on their killer new album, CALM. If you’ve followed 5SOS from the beginning, they’ve gradually transformed from dropping punk-rock records to pop bangers. This is a perfect collection of songs you’ll want to shout and have a Zoom dance party to.
Lady Like by Ingrid Andress
One of the most exciting genres in music today is country-pop. Female songstresses like Kacey Musgraves and Maren Morris have stretched and helped evolve this classic style. Enter Ingrid Andress. Her first EP is a perfect blend of country and pop, and album stand out “The Stranger” (a soaring, show stopping ballad) will have you all in your feels.
After Hours by The Weeknd
Did The Weeknd predict we would all be feeling super lonely when he dropped his new album After Hours? Absolutely not. But the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This album reacquaints us with those sharp lyrics, oozy beats and classic falsetto that made us fall in love with The Weeknd a few years ago. It’s an album that truly has everything; you’ll dance, you’ll cry and then repeat it all over again.
Fine Line by Harry Styles
What can I possibly say that hasn’t already been said about the one and only Harry Styles? Released in December, Fine Line cements him as the pure rockstar we’ve been waiting for. From “Watermelon Sugar” to “Falling” you’ll be so happy you spent your day jamming out with Mr. Styles
