The Enneagram and our Psyche.
the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character.
“she had a sunny personality that was very engaging”
Personalities, we’ve all got one! Love ‘em or hate ‘em!
Have you ever looked at someone in true awe and wonder how they came to exist? How about someone whose work seems to complement their natural abilities? Have you ever thought about why you gravitate towards certain people and not others?
One way to better understand these questions is to take a deep look into our personality types where tons of hidden gems about our psyches are just waiting to be cracked open.
My personal favorite ‘secret weapon’ when trying to understand someone’s actions aka their personality is by reading into the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a diamond in the rough! It breaks down 9 different personality traits that humans fall into based on a test they have taken.
So what is this so-called human development testing device I speak of? It is a tool, a system, to help us understand, manage, and become more objective to our own personalities and the likes of others. As history goes, the Enneagram was created centuries ago and is still being used today in modern psychology. Below is a quick description of Nine Enneagram types and a few celebrities that fall under each category.

Intrigued yet? Have you figured out yours? Don’t be fooled just yet! Take the test and see where it leads you. Try to go back into your childhood psyche and answer the questions from that place in space in time that once existed within you.
And remember, no one is just one thing. We all have a dominant trait and we have ‘wings’ of other types. As stated on the enneagram website, by identifying our type we’re able to better understand our basic fears, basic desires, what types we’re more compatible with, our motivations, types of addictions we’re prone to, the levels of our own development (healthy, average, and unhealthy), as well as personal growth recommendations.
